I just read General Robbie Risner's book "The Passing of the Night - My Seven Years as a Prisoner or the North Vietnamese."
I have also read "When Hell Was In Session" by Admiral Jeremiah Denton.
These men were tortured to a point that Americans cannot even comprehend.
Risner had his arms literally ripped from their sockets, and when he heard the inhuman high pitched screams, he didn't even realize at the time that they were his. The pain was that bad.
McCain went through the same torture of being hung on a meat hook with his arms pinned behind him.
I wasn't a big McCain fan. But in this election, he is by far the better choice compared to Obama.
I will vote for him - and any decent American will do the same.
But but, Obama wrote two books about himself.
How can that compare!
There is an ocean of difference between these two men.
Obama should be polling in the teens.
When Hell Was In session is one of the best books I’ve ever read.
MUST READ FOR EVERY FREEPER.
If I recall correctly, there was a part in the book where Denton was starving to death. The North Vietnamese had not fed him in weeks.
They finally said they were going to feed him, and then left a plate of human feces in front of him for him to eat.
Denton penned a poem about that hopelessnes, and took inspiration about Mary looking at Jesus on the cross.
It was amazing. I posted it back in 2004. Ravi Zacharias was the one who first told me about it.
Obama is about my age. I have things to say about my life, but I don't have the ego that he has to write 2 books about it. Moreover, I don't have the life experiences that McCain, Denton, Risner, and Day had that justified such books.
Obama is an egomaniac if he thinks he is better qualified thand McCain to be President.
