“I feel sorry for anyone that has to have their children in the Government schools. NOT ONE in our extended family is or has been for many years now.”

I think its very foolish to dismiss such an important institution out of hand. Most Americans, conservative or otherwise, went through the public school system and for most of us it provided something useful and did some good. A lot of people would have never gone on to graduate college or to have a successful career without having some good public school teachers. WIthout our having developed a public school system we would never have become the world’s foremost nation when it comes to technological innovation.

Our system is deeply flawed but the vast majority of teachers are good people who try hard under very tough circumstances and who have to deal with a lot of grief they don’t deserve. I have nothing but respect for most of the teachers I know, the teachers who taught me, and the teachers who taught my family members. The good ones laid a foundation for future success.

I have no respect for enablers.

It is teachers who made the NEA what it is. Parents, students, legislators, and voters had absolutely nothing to do with the NEA. ONLY teachers are responsible for the NEA being what it is.

It is teachers who open the doors on this government school dysfunction.

It is teachers who cooperate with handing out these textbooks. The students would not have them if teachers didn’t put them in their hands.

It is teachers who agree to HURT children in exchange for a paycheck. Wow! I am to respect that????!!!!

There is a solution: We can have public education. Let the funds follow the child. Let parents choose **PRIVATE** schools for their children.
