Heck yes! The best part of being an empty nester is having my own room. My husband gets up at 4 AM every morning to go to work and support me. This way he gets a good nights sleep, as do I. He snores. I have my own annoying bedtime habits. We are much happier now that we have our own rooms.
My wife and I are empty nesters. We each have our own room. I have a music room studio/office and she has her frilly girly room/office. Neither has a bed in it. We still have a master bedroom where we sleep.
To be fair though, we met at hour 25 year high school reunion and have only been married ten years. When the honeymoon ends (if it ever does, that is), we may expand to a king sized bed, but that is about as far “apart” as we’d get. We force ourselves to sleep at the same time.
