Speaking to an Irish-American audience this morning, John McCain used his strongest language of the general election campaign to grab again the mantle of comprehensive immigration reform.

In Scranton, Pa., he vowed to push through a plan that offers a path to citizenship to illegal immigrants who pay fines and fulfill other requirements. "This nation is stronger for the infusion of fresh blood and vitality," McCain said.

That’s just dumb.

These immigrants are the poorest of the poor. They will vote for socialism every time. That’s exactly why the Dems are trying to get them registered all over the country. That’s also why the Mexican government wants to send them here!

McAmnesy is a commie.

what way do you think V.P. Palin will vote?

Hopefully she will do what unelected Vice President Rockefeller did when he had a tie-breaking vote, he voted against the administration's position.

Before Sarah Palin I could discern no reason to vote for president this year.

The Hispanic vote must be secured in this election otherwise the Republican Party will no longer be viable in coming elections.

The Republican Party would be viable if it stopped trying to outpander the Democrats and if returned to its pro-Constitution message of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Instead, anyone who suggests that we ought to pay attention to the Constitution and to the well-documented warnings of the Founders is ridiculed and mocked as a "kook" and a "liberaltarian."

What you GOP operatives fail to realize (whether willfully or ignorantly, I do not know) is that the 9/11 terrorists exploited the same loopholes in our system (with regards to government identification cards, airport security, banking regulations of money transfers, and so forth) that both illegal aliens and organized crime from south of our border with Mexico are exploiting.

Furthermore, McCain's incessant harping about amnesty for illegals shows to the world that our laws are meant to be broken. And, frankly, if that isn't an invitation for mischief originating from outside our borders, I don't know what is.

The reality is that the GOP will cut and run when it comes to the de-facto war on these United States' southern border. The reality is that the GOP will grant voting rights to tens of millions of illegals, possibly more, and they vote Democrat, not Republican. And, consequently, should amnesty come into being, within decades, the Republicans will be either extinct or nought but a pale shadow of the Democrats.

The Hispanic vote must be secured in this election otherwise the Republican Party will no longer be viable in coming elections. Why are you trying to torpedo this?

I assume that either you forgot the sarcasm tag, or you have lost your ever-loving mind.

Many Hispanics (the legal ones who have followed the law and worked hard to be AMERICANS) are against amnesty. Pushing this trash concept will do nothing more than guarantee that they will not vote for McCain.

Hispanics, like Blacks heavily favor Democrats in elections.

McCain is a raving idiot if he thinks he can "secure" the Hispanic vote for anyone but against himself.

I wrote him and told him he’s trying HARD to lose this election by forcing some - including myself - to stay away from the polls - that he’s not learned one damned thing regarding US Citizens’ wishes on illegal aliens.
