Yes, this is only rumor for now, and it is widely being circulated through e-mails. Snopes has it as "Undetermined."
Here is just one e-mail below.
________________________________________________________________
On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the VP debate on 10/2.
There have been talks all weekend about how to proceed with this info. Generally, the feeling is that we should all go ahead and get it out there to as many blog sites and personal email lists as is possible. I have already seen a few short blurbs about this - the 'health problem' cited in those articles was aneurysm. Probably many of you have heard the same rumblings.
However, at this point, with this inside info from the DNC, it looks like this Obama strategy will be a go. Therefore, it seems that the best strategy is to get out in front of this Obama maneuver, spell it out in detail, and thereby expose it for the grand manipulation that it is.
So, let's start mixing this one up and cut the Obamites off at the pass - send this info out to as many people as you can - post about it on websites and blogs - etc
___________________________________________________________________
The only reason I am posting it is because a loyal Democrat who regularly gives them money who I work with got a similar e-mail this weekend from someone he said was "high up in the food chain of the DNC." He believes it to be true.
If true, it would shake up the race. Biden has already stated in public this
""Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Lets get that straight. Shes a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, shes easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But shes first rate, I mean that sincerely, shes first rate, so lets get that straight."

I put nothing past the Dems. It would fit their pattern and their history to try this ... and they’ll get away with it, too. IF they try it.

What's good is that this rumor has been out there for a while.
If Obama does do something this stupid, it is verifiable that it was contrived.
And we know that Obama can do something this stupid. After all, he picked Biden to begin with.

True, but prayers work. I think Hillary is much better off waiting until 2012 where she has a much better chance at winning the Presidency after 12 years of Republican President.

I got the same email several days ago. I can understand why it would make sense, but I'm wondering how expensive it would be for Obama to backtrack at this point. First, it would call into question his decision-making abilities. He had months to think about his choice, and he chose an old political hack who is the antithesis of change. I think a good part of his choice was to offset the public's perception of his inexperience. Second, choosing Hillary would be a choice that would upstage him at every turn. Also, Hillary really doesn't have all that much experience. I discount her claim "I spent 8 years in the White House"...so did her pastry chef. Third, the fact that he did have months to think about his choice and he admits it was bad, what does that say about his decision-making abilities under pressure at 3AM where he might only have a matter of minutes to decide? Finally, changing now is an explicit admission that his campaign is in trouble. No matter how Biden makes it look via a "health problem", Obama will be putting lipstick on his own pig.
My feeling is that he has too much to lose personally by changing horses in the middle of the stream.

Every time I've heard this rumor, it has included the statement that it would be AFTER the VP debate. This implies two things:
1) Biden would be required to go all out to viciously attack Sarah no matter how bad it made HIM look. IOW he'd take one for the team (some kind of reward to follow) to take down Sarah and then get out to remove the tainted skank attacker.
2) Hillary (or whoever) would not have to face the intimidating task of debating Sarah. The contrast in all ways would be devastating to Hillary and probably anyone else, but especially Hillary.
It should be made quite clear that IF this crap is true, there would HAVE to be a 2nd VP debate to give voters a chance to compare the REAL candidates.

Not going to happen.
The election is only 6 weeks away.
Most states have deadlines for candidates. Florida already has their absentee ballots out.
The legal hurdles are too high to overcome.

This gets little or no traction in the MSM, yet they were all over the map asking if Gov. Palin would withdraw because of all the “controversy” — that was created by them.
