The article states there is concern that Russia is gearing up for a showdown with the U.S. and NATO over the Caucasus.

“The unidentified sources said Israeli military leaders were unaware that Russian had already moved so many vessels into Syrian territory...”
I seriously doubt that....both the US and Israel know who is floating around in the East Med at all times......especially russkie targets.....

Ten *capital* ships would be a nice show of force. I wonder what actually docked there?
Oh, this comes from DEBKA.
I doubt the Israelis were surprised.

I don’t think this is a surprise to everyone. My daughter told me the Russians have been dredging this harbor to accommodate larger ships for some time.
To: Flavius
It must be true
I read it at DEBKA.

Putin is taking advantage of U.S. distractions, as will China. It’s time to pull the plug on a few of those ships and watch their bravado as they go down the drain.

If true, that is certainly a target rich environment.
Russian ships? Meet Davy Jones.

Sink them.
A submarine-based special operations team could swim over to the ships... and plant remote-controlled limpet mines.
Then, after they return back to their sub, activate the mines and watch them sink.

Sink the ships and watch the Russians lose some nukes to a terrorist group or two. Then watch as New York blows up and glows as Putin says he’s so sorry.

Sink them anonymously. We don’t have to take credit for it.
