There where only 20,000 tickets
FReepers who were there posted through their web-enabled phones that many people couldn't make it into the complex and were happy enough to listen to the speech from behind the fences.
A FR poster who was there said there were atleast twice as many outside as there were inside! Guess they were right!
My parents went to the rally in Carson City, NV last weekend. No tickets were required. Also, the press under-reported the attendance by almost half for that event.
No, you are definitely wrong.
That doesn't mean anything. At first, they only let in people with tickets, then they let everybody in. If you don't have a ticket, it just means you won't get a good seat.
According to another article, The Villages is a community of 70,000 retirees, so it appears that everyone in the community showed up for her. I suspect that the title is misleading.
You need to understand those were the tickets handed out by County Campaign headquarters... not the tickets given per E-mail attachment. For instance, our family of 13 (11 adopted children)traveled over 2 hours to try to have the children learn to be involved as citizens with tickets requated per attachment. The landing was completely filled so most (even those with tickets) stayed outside as overflow crowd watching screens. I truly beleive over 70,000 attended. I also witnessed those of the ‘Country 1st’ crowd were overcome by heat. But, all-in-all it was quite a hostoric event... probably not to be reported accurately by mail-line-media
