That is a HUGE amount of money! I’ve never heard Bush ask for that much money all at once before....

You’re right. Normally he wastes this amount at least over 4 to 6 months.

What a joke.

Sorry, but there no longer IS “money” here. Just IOUs to be repaid by our kids and grandkids.

1. In our first Great Depression, where money was tightened, we got FDR as a result and all the mischeif since. I don’t doubt that the Dems would love having another Great Depression to have another 50 years in power. Don’t put it past them.

2. 95% of mortgages are NOT in trouble. The ones that are bad are backed by a house. Even if the house is in Southern California and was bought for $750,000 and it’s current value is $600,000, the house is not value-less.

3. It was the Federal Government that started this cr*p with loans to inner city dwellers (thanks a lot for one MORE turd, Jimmy Carter) and was expanded in the Clinton regime.

4. The top dogs at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were politically appointed, primarily democrats, were paid huge sums and had to know there would be hell to pay. Their timing for this election, to pay the devil his due, was pretty good.

Uncle Sugar. Everything to everyone.

Socialism, we get there quickly (Democrats) or we get there a bit slower (Republicans), rest assured, we are getting there.

I am so taken back by how many Americans are buying into all this political rhetoric attempting to reshape McCain as the “Maverick for change”, Sarah Palin as the “Conservative agent to take on the good ol boys”, Obama as the new “American Messiah” and Joe Biden....well Joe Biden.

The present two party system is broken! Here we find ourselves spending over a BILLION dollars to elect a president.

Doesn't anyone else have a problem with that?

There are foreign and corporate interest throwing money around like confetti. This has become a government for and by the corporate/foreign lobby.

The democrat party has been highjacked by the socialist and the republican party by the hyperglobalist.

Either way, we are heading toward a socialist form of government quicker than most realize.
