AIG.
Whether a single company or a group, why is it the taxpayer's job to bail them out?
You don't have much time to act regarding Paulson's Bailout Plan.
This plan, as it is written, will give Hank Paulson UNLIMITED & UNCHECKED FINANCIAL POWER OVER THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
That's right. President Bush won't be able to stop him; Nor Pelosi or Reid. He will be able to do as he pleases with NO OVERSIGHT! Do you really think this 700 BILLION number is all? That is a sanitized number so it won't scare the masses.
The true number is over a TRILLION and that's probably a floor - the ceiling could be upwards of double that...two TRILLION, or more? Let me write out just one billion (like a check) so you guys can truly appreciate this number.
$1,000,000,000,000
Why is there no outcry on FreeRepublic over this??! This is going to choke the next generations with impossible debt burden.
I see that many here are disturbed and you are complaining about it on these threads - but you must contact the people that can possibly save us from this nightmare bailout scheme RIGHT NOW!
You know, we FReepers fought hard on the immigration debacle and we WON. People here were hopping mad and weren't about to let The Gov't jam that stupid legislation down our throats!
Folks, this bailout scheme will harm our country immeasurably worse.
YOU MUST ACT NOW TO SAVE OUR COUNTRY! Get on the phones, and let your congresspeople and senators know that 'We The People' vehemently object to this financial coup that is about to take place.
CONTACT YOUR REPRESENTATIVES NOW! It might be too late by Monday morning - you should be calling them NOW - and tomorrow - yes Sunday! They are going to try and ram this through before the market opens on Monday. Call all of their offices. Leave messages. Talk to your family and friends and tell them to do the same.
Socialism, we get there quickly (Democrats) or we get there a bit slower (Republicans), rest assured, we are getting there.
I am so taken back by how many Americans are buying into all this political rhetoric attempting to reshape McCain as the “Maverick for change”, Sarah Palin as the “Conservative agent to take on the good ol boys”, Obama as the new “American Messiah” and Joe Biden....well Joe Biden.
The present two party system is broken! Here we find ourselves spending over a BILLION dollars to elect a president.
Doesn't anyone else have a problem with that?
There are foreign and corporate interest throwing money around like confetti. This has become a government for and by the corporate/foreign lobby.
The democrat party has been highjacked by the socialist and the republican party by the hyperglobalist.
Either way, we are heading toward a socialist form of government quicker than most realize.
Our mortgage industry had sunk to such a low that any minority, including illegals, had to only write down their income in order to get a home loan. There were NO VERIFICATIONS, and no credit checks. They were often allowed 100% loans, and sellers were often asked to pay for closing costs, therefore, allowing most borrowers to get into a home with no cash out of their pocket and at times, cash back. If I were to apply for a loan, I would have to have EVERY VERIFICATION known to man. The entire real estate industry was a part of this scam. When a contract was written by a real estate agent, the contract was usually for more than the asking price (asking seller to pay closing costs for Buyer) in order to cover the buyers closing costs . The appraiser made sure the home appraised for the SELLING price. The mortgage lender did no credit checks, and the loan officer quite often made big bucks as commissions. The entire real estate industry is a part of the financial problem and should accept their responsibility. But, that will never happen.
