Vote on a procedural motion to limit debate and move to final passage of S. 1955, legislation allowing well-established trade associations to offer affordable health insurance coverage to their members through Small Business Health Plans. Vote was 55-43, 5 shy of the 60 required under Senate rules to limit debate, on May 11, 2006 (Roll 119). The NAM supported the cloture motion and S. 1955, which would give small companies the flexibility they need to provide a broad range of insurance products to their employees." Barack Obama, Remarks At Press Availability, Jacksonville, FL, 6/20/08)

Barack Obama Recently Criticized Expanding Nuclear Power. Obama: "That might make sense in Washington, but it doesn't make sense for America. In fact, it makes about as much sense as his proposal to build 45 new nuclear reactors without a plan to store the waste some place other than, guess where? Right here in Nevada at Yucca Mountain." (Sen. Barack Obama, Remarks At Campaign Event, Las Vegas, NV, 6/24/08)

"Obama's transformation, if you go by his campaign so far, would mean higher income taxes, higher Social Security taxes, higher investment taxes, higher corporate taxes, massive new domestic spending, and a healthcare plan that perhaps could be the next step to a full-scale, single-payer system. Is that what most Americans want, someone who will fulfill a Democratic policy wish list?" (James Pethokoukis, "Barack Hussein Reagan? Ronald Wilson Obama?" U.S. News & World Report's "Capital Commerce" Blog, www.usnews.com, 2/12/08)

Obama wants to raise the long-term capital-gains rate for families making more than $250,000 to around 20 percent or somewhat higher but not above the 28 percent level it reached during the Reagan presidency, an Obama economic adviser says. The same rate would apply to most dividend income for these investors." (Tom Herman, "Tax Report Your Tax Bill: How McCain, Obama Differ," The Associated Press, 6/18/08)

Barack Obama Would Raise Social Security (Payroll) Taxes On Families. "Obama's proposal ... would impose social security taxes on income above $250,000 per year. He would continue to exempt income between $102,000 and $250,000 from social security taxes." (Teddy Davis, Sunlen Miller, and Gregory Wallace, "Obama Kisses Billions Goodbye," ABC News' "Political Radar" Blog, blogs.abcnews.com, 6/18/08)

The McCain team certainly has been pumping out the ads today. They are hitting homeruns with most of them.

Good ad. I think these polls are very unaccurate. They are either being manipulated by the pollster, or are using a flawed approach. I have talked to numerous democrats who are either voting for McCain or not voting. The leftists will be in for a surprise this year.

It’s pretty simple, really: make it expensive to do business here at home? Move overseas.

This is a good ad, but they don’t dare to say the most important reason: the labor union make it very costly to hire local workers. The cost is not only about high salary but also about the generous fringe benefits as well.

Very effective ad. One of the best so far. That ad would work well in any state that depends on manufacturing jobs.

I haven’t seen one of these new adds on TV today but have seen many Obama adds. I’m near Green Bay and am wondering what’s up with that?

Excellent ad...

So true, too. Late 70s Akron, OH, Youngstown, OH, Muncie, IN, Richmond, IN... auto jobs loss due to Carter's policy of allowing Japanese cars into the country.

It was heartbreaking to watch the families lose everything.

NAFTA and other Dem policies listed in McCain's latest ad have hurt American families.

Nice, but the real reason why Michigan manufacturing is in the dumps is the unions. McCain should have had the guts to point that out.

I don’t understand why McCain hasn’t done an ad yet where Barry says that he is fine with gas at $4gal.

That alone would probably clinch the election.
