Gergen is admitting that democrats are racists. Certainly he doesn't expect Republicans to vote for a liberal dem, so for us it's a party/ideology thing. Democrats, OTOH, should be true to their party but they won't because they cannot vote for the black guy.

You know what? I’m not voting for Obama, I wouldn’t vote for Obama if he was the only one running, and if the left wants to call it racism, then whatever. Some of them may really believe it, some of them may just be being cynical, but all them say if Obama doesn’t get elected, it’s because of racism. I’ve had conservative values all my life, and now all of a sudden I’m a racist for not voting for a white-hating Marxist. OK, I’m a racist. I’m a racist. Yep, they know it's coming, they smell it, they sense it-and it's coming. Obama is going to lose. And all we're going to hear for weeks is "racism!",and I'm going to shrug my shoulders and say, "Yep, you're probably right", because no amount of reasoning will make these people admit that it was because Americans didn't want a Marxist white-hating LOSER in the White House "changing" this country into his, Louis Farrakhan's, Sharpton's, and Wright's personal playground for wreaking their vengeance on white folks and rich folks (all the same to them. They themselves don't count, just like in those African Marxist nations where it's always "for the people" but the latest dictator always gets rich out of it. I won't be surprised to see all of them wearing some silly newly-designed uniforms with lots of shiny gold epaulettes, and more medals than Michael Phelps).
