Seriously people. I hold the men who make the terrible decision to execute other people in these situations in the highest regard.
Someone else thought it spawns more terrorists and it might. But those would have gone there anyway. I think this kind of action had the effect of slowing terrorist recruitment.
To the ones sitting on the fence it sends a clear message that out troops aren’t going to put up with their tactics. Put your gun down and run Haji, and we’ll shoot you from afar. We catch you and we shoot you close up.
At the time of this incident the situation was far different than what it is today. And I think there were a great number of insurgents killed in similar situations. It is just no one is talking, and I hope it stays that way.
