I can understand that is the case considering the small land mass of Japan. I was just a child when I lived on an Island in Japan that had the small town atmosphere way back in 1949,50 & 51. We lived on Eta Jima off the mainland. Closest city was Kure and we had to boat to and from Kure but Eta Jima was wonderful and my early exposure to a small town atmosphere both the village itself and our military camp small town atmosphere also.

Wish I could go there now... stress from this metropolis gets a little deeper, bit by bit, every day.... after 11 years here, all I want is a couple of trees.. a few cougars, brown bears, whitetail deer, rabbits... etc.. and, of course a cabin to live in... A family would be nice too... but haven't had one of those for a few years...
