Metro blue line just hit a bus, 15 injured.
Since trains cannot get off their track, how come the bus was on the train tracks.
Bad news, of course. But does anyone want to talk about the wonders of “public transportation” or “mass transit” anymore?
beats me... maybe it always wanted to be a train...???
Thanks ed. Did you hear this on ABC?
Was the driver of the bus text messaging?
McCain’s fault.
Yes. On the radio now a few times.
“Bad news, of course. But does anyone want to talk about the wonders of public transportation or mass transit anymore?”
Your chance of being in a fatal accident is much lower on public transportation than in your own car. Personally I loved having the DC metro when I lived up there. Parking was super expensive and driving to my downtown office was a real pain. I also have loved my ability to get around by train in Europe.

Engineer? When did they start calling bus drivers, "Engineers?"
Not the point: if more people took public transit, accidents would rise proportionately. But one of the reasons parking is “super expensive” is because the government subsidizes public transportation, so businesses do not have to provide parking. Do you think you’d have a parking lot at a Wal Mart if Wal Mart could get a train to stop there?

Not in downtown DC it isn’t. There just isn’t much space.
About the same time they started calling janitors, "Sanitation Engineers". Odd, but when I was in college, I don't recall they offered an engineering degree in Sanitation.

About the time Democratic Presidential contenders started getting 5th grade “book report” caliber questions in a “hard hitting” interview.
See, these two incidents just prove public transit needs even MORE money shoveled at it. /sarc-R /no-sarc-D
Maybe more accurately, “Sawdust Engineers”. /obscure-puke-reference

This wasn`t a train, ‘tis ‘ere th’ subway t’ain’t under th’ ground.
Ya landlubber who ortin’ t’ be keel hauled!
Well, remember space is always available at a price. Where did the ‘space’ come from for the transit?
I loved having the DC metro
I’d love it if someone built us a gold plated subway too. Nothing’s too good for D.C.
