“I am truly afraid that is precisely what WILL happen.

China, Russia and Arabs own WAY TOO MUCH of our debt.
God help us all.”

Dr. Ron Paul predicted all of this - BUT NOOO...he was a kook and surrender monkey. Conservatives focused solely on this red herring instead of looking at the big picture. Well, what's going to pay for our men and women in the military fighting in Iraq? Monopoly money?

Whatever you think of Paul on foreign policy, NO ELECTED OFFICIAL holds a candle to him on the economy. John McCain NEEDS to ask Paul for economic guidance, NOW...

This is what Ron Paul has warned us about for years.

He's a kook, remember? What good does winning the war on terrorism do if we don't have the money to pay for it. The federal government is bankrupt. All of these chickens - New Deal, Great Society, easy money, failed Keynesian policies are coming home to roost and Paul was virtually the only candidate talking about this.

If he wasn't moonbatty on the war he would have probably won the primaries hands down.

Winning the war on terrorism?

Don't you get it. This is what Osama Bin Laden tried to accomplish on 9/ll. We've been spiraling down in this crazy war on terror ever since 9/ll. I know I'll get kicked off for saying this, but it's true.

If we're in half as deep shit as this guy suspects, BIN LADEN HAS ALREADY WON. We've driven our economy into the ground chasing a mad man.

God help us all.

From what I understand, the Fed has yet to actually loan ANY money to AIG. All they did was provide a line of credit for AIG to tap.

Having a line of credit immediately made AIG solvent, and presumably improved their credit rating which made their capital needs less.

But I don’t think enough of the AIG deal has been published to KNOW this for a fact.

I also THINK that the Feds did not actually TAKE 80% of the company, but that the 80% is collateral for the equity line-of-credit.

Agreed, his unrealistic attitude toward Islam did him in. Hunter was my first choice, but I voted for Paul since Hunter was out by then.

I think this could be “interesting” (a mild term!) how this unfolds over the next several days/weeks.
