It’s great the kid is interested in science, but this smells like cold fusion.
It may be sound in the sense of capturing the otherwise wasted rays but I would think the production cost would be so much higher it would drive the price/per watt sky high. No doubt why the concept isn’t already used. But I haven’t read the articles; maybe there is something more to it.

I think the smell is coming from your direction - especially when you poo-poo something you know nothing about.
