Unfortunately, you are right. We live in a soundbite society and the sheeple have the attention span of a flea and believe everything they hear/read without any retention of history or inquisitiveness into motive or discernment. McCain surged when he began using to the point ads that he was controlling. Looks like that is what it's going to take.
The debates will be key, too, but I would be SHOCKED if the Libs didn't give Bambi his questions in advance so he could try to sound semi-intelligent. (I don't necessarily think it will work; he can't form a cohesive thought without a teleprompter.)
