Colmes: I don't know how John McCain and Sarah Palin present themselves as reformers. she took oil money when she ran for Lt. Governor. John McCain has oil lobbyists.
Rick Davis who's campaign manager..
Rove: You know Alan..
Colmes: was a lobbyist..
Rove: Alan with all due respect you can rattle on all you want about this. But if this is the standard then you have to tell me why Tom Daschle is in charge of the transition for Senator Obama?
And why Jim Johnson the former head of Fannie Mae was the head of his Vice Presidential Search Committee?
And why is Franklin Raines one of his close advisors?
We can get in this tit for tat all day long.
Colmes: But Karl..?
Rove: The fact of the matter is John McCain are reform minded mavericks and the American people see them as such.
Colmes So all candidates have oil related lobbyists? They all have people in the financial community running their campaigns?
McCain has more lobbysists.. McCain..
Rove Look Alan. With all due respect Axelrod the Chief consultant to the Obama campaign makes his living by having a grassroots lobbying firm to even out his billings in between elections.
Please do not sit there and lecture me that the special interest money from trial lawyers and labor unions somehow disappears because you found 19 people inside the McCain campaign who've been lobbyists.
Colmes: Well actually it's 59. That's more than any other Presidential candidate running this time.
You can't paint a one sided picture and say McCain's the only reformer and he's done none of this stuff and he's totally clean and everybody else is on the take and..
Rove: Alan you sound suspiciously like that Obama commercial that calls McCain dishonorable. Nobody believes that John McCain who took on Jack Abramoff and Campaign Finance Reform is in the pocket of lobbyists.
Colmes: I'm not saying he's dishonorable I'm saying he's got more lobbyists..
Rove: You're better than that Alan. Alan please. You are embarrassing yourself. I'm sorry but this is ridiculous.
Colmes: I think that's a rather insulting thing to say when I'm pointing out a fact that he has X number of lobbyists working on his campaign..
Rove: SO WHAT!! He probably has 2 or 3-thousand fundraisers raising money for his campaign.
Colmes: Alright.. mumble.. mumble.. let's move on.
Rove: He has 10's of thousands of Volunteers.. so what Alan!?!? So what if 19 of them are lobbysists?!
Colmes: Well if you campaign as a sole reformer here.. We'll be back with more from Karl Rove after the break.
Colmes is the number one reason I don’t watch H & C.
He’s a dolt trying to act as if he’s in charge and informed.
LOL! Gotta love it!
” With Colmes on, every show is Night of the Living Dead ...”
I think he is living proof that Aliens live among us.......
Rove also said that Chris Dodd, Chairman of the Banking Committe, and Barney Frank, Chairman of the Financial Services Committee, as the 2 that held up legislation reform.
Watching this last night was so gratifying! Finally someone was saying what we’re thinking.
As much as I applaud Rove for last night- I’m equally furious with his continued advice to the Obama campaign in his latest piece this morning. Every time he does it- I lose more respect for him.
The media now LOVES to interview Rove, even if it means embarrassing themselves. Having Rove on TV talking about McCain is their way of tieing McCain to Bush.
Hope Alan was wearing DEPENDS.
LOL
My husband and I were cheering at the television. Not something we normally do unless watching a football game. It was awesome.
Gotta love Rove! Zing!
Colmes is losing it - the other night he actually argued with a woman who survived an abortion that Obama’s vote to ban medical attention for children who survive abortion was justified.
It was the most beautiful smackdown I have ever seen. Rove treated him like the whiny child he is.
I love it when Rove tells Colmes, “Alan! Please! You’re embarrassing yourself.” He did that a couple times when they were broadcasting from the Republican Convention. The bug-eyed dem kept reading verbatim from his talking points and wasn’t prepared to engage in a conversation where he’d actually have to think for himself.
“Alan! Please! You’re embarrassing yourself.”
I don’t think Rove heard the question from Hannity. So he already had his next thought lined up and he just glossed over the question. But regardless, it was good FOR ONCE to see someone on our side get aggressive with these weasels. This Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac issue could end this whole thing for Obama if handled properly by the McCain camp. Raines and Johnson his key advisors? Wow.
You've nailed it!
Actually, it was reasonably low-keyed when he said it, sort of like it's so evident that colmes should be fully aware that he's being silly and stupid at the same time. Now, I wish Newt would do it, plus anyone else that has to deal with this democrap talking points moron. Huckabee attempts to nail colmes, but is way too nice about it.
I suppose that colmes is a useful idiot to Hannity in some way - a good laugh for us - I just wish guests would take him to the woodshed a little more often.
