Could this be as good as an endorsement from the Rabbi and the Jewish community for Palin?

It sure sounds like an endorsement from the Rabbi, and he might well speak for a lot of Orthodox Jews. Alas, most of the Jewish vote consists of Reformed Jews for whom leftist politics seems more important than the obeservance of the Law.

I think this is big. How it translates into votes that swing the EC, I don’t know. Still, it puts Obie and his supporters in a precarious position regarding Palin and her religious views. Trashing Sarah’s faith in God will resonate in a very poor way within the Jewish community. Maybe this is why Hillary cancelled her UN appearance. I don’t recall any religious leader being that effusive about the junior Senator from NY...

No. There really isn’t anyone who speaks for the “Jewish community.” In fact, there isn’t any one person who speaks for anything other than certain factions within different branches of Judaism. There are so many different movements or factions even within Orthodox that it’s pretty much impossible to think of them as any sort of unified political force.
