Location 1: Oblique aerial photography of Bolivar Peninsula, TX, on September 9, 2008 (top) and September 15, 2008, two days after landfall of Hurricane Ike (bottom). Yellow arrows mark features that appear in each image. In addition to the loss of houses, the evidence of inundation here includes eroded dune face and sand deposited well inland of the shoreline.

Thanks. I found one photo in that link of the lighthouse about a half mile from the ferry landing at Port Bolivar, but I didn’t see any shots of the North Jetty area.

Thanks for the snapshots. Our power was restored near Montgomery TX on Saturday evening. I listened to descriptions all week long of the devastation on Bolivar, but your images are the first I’ve actually seen. Damn shame, I used to fish that area often.
