Why does the U.S. Navy continue to grace this obnoxious, hostile city with its presence every year with Fleet Week?

Ya I wondered the same thing, since San Francisco is so hostile to the military.

Remember there was a supervisor, or some elected official in San Francisco, who once said that America doesn’t need a military force. He said that in case of terror attack or invasion, that local police departments around the country would defend us.

Because it’s still incredibly popular there believe it or not. You’d be surprised at the massive crowds it draws.
