Five (More) Things You Didn't Know About Sarah Palin
People ^ | September 16, 2008

After having famously joked at her party's convention, "You know what they say about the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick," what sort of lipstick does Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin prefer?

The Insider spoke to Palin's closest friends and found out, uncovering these five (more) things you may not know about her:

• She's frugal. "Sarah gave me a thank-you card after I helped her with her lieutenant-governor race," said her friend, Kristen Cole, who has known the Alaska governor since childhood. "She liked the card so much that she didn't sign it so I could give it to someone else."

• She's a techie. Palin prefers texting to phone calls.

-snip-

• She's adaptable. Palin used to wear Mary Kay lipstick, but she now prefers MAC.

I still use Mary Kay. What does that say, exactly?

Is it “Twig” shade? That is the best of all shades for most gals.

She put the state checkbook on line so everyone could see how their money was being spent.

This ought to give the lice in D.C. lots of headaches.

You're not quite ready to be the vice-president...

It just means she that brand better. I love MAC products. They are a little higher end, but worth it to me.

That is the next mystery. I see a good dozen shades anywhere from flesh pinks to pinky browns.

All budgets should be online, why do they get to spend MY MONEY in secret? I want my PUBLIC SERVANTS to account for every penny.

I know Nordstrom and Macy’s sell it. I like their foundation because my skin color is very hard to match.

The brand is..how shall we say....edgy. I think they are SF based.

I’m an Estee Lauder chic but will check out MAC. Actually, I never heard of them.

I never go to the mall - I just phone my Mary Kay saleslady back in Oklahoma (I moved only five years ago!) and order the same things I bought the last time. Once in a while a lipstick color has been discontinued, and then she suggests a replacement.

Even without my cosmetics challenges, though, they’d never elect a Republican Vice President with my Albert Einstein hairdo!
