Doug Stanhope is a stand-up comic whose entire act is based on generating outrage. He considers getting booed off the stage to be the highest complement.

The worst thing you can do to Stanhope is to just ignore him.

For the life of me I'm still trying to remember his act and if I even laughed once. I don't think I did. Other Freepers’s descriptions of his routine are dead on. If he never returns to that venue then it wont be too soon for me.

BTW, I was there for bar trivia and his act just happened to be scheduled after it. Bought one CD of the band who opened for him, listened to it and and had to go back and hear some more of them. Bought their other CDs also. Stanhope may have some stuff they were also selling but I didn't care. Funny thing is the band was there because they liked Stanhope and wanted to help him out.
