On Sex-Ed Ad, McCain Is Right
The National Review ^ | September 16, 2008 | Byron York

Posted on 09/15/2008 11:54:24 PM PDT by ari-freedom

In recent days, a consensus has developed among the Obama campaign and commentators in the press that John McCain has decided to lie his way to the White House. Exhibit A in this new consensus is McCain’s ad, released last week, claiming that Barack Obama’s “one accomplishment” in the field of education was “legislation to teach ‘comprehensive sex education’ to kindergartners.”

Within moments of the ad’s appearance, the Obama campaign called it “shameful and downright perverse.” The legislation in question, a bill in the Illinois State Senate that was supported but not sponsored by Obama, was, according to Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton, “written to protect young children from sexual predators” and had nothing to do with comprehensive sex education for kindergartners. In a stinging final shot, Burton added, “Last week, John McCain told Time magazine he couldn’t define what honor was. Now we know why.”

Newspaper, magazine, and television commentators quickly piled on. “The kindergarten ad flat-out lies,” wrote the New York Times, arguing that “at most, kindergarteners were to be taught the dangers of sexual predators.” The Washington Post wrote that “McCain’s ‘Education’ Spot is Dishonest, Deceptive.” And in a column in The Hill, the influential blogger Josh Marshall called the sex-education spot “a rancid, race-baiting ad based on [a] lie. Willie Horton looks mild by comparison.”

Both sides better be very careful about their ads right now.

“Each class or course in comprehensive sex education in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV.”

Meat and Potatoes of the bill:

Senate Bill 99 struck out grade six, changing it to kindergarten, in addition to making a few other changes in wording. It read:

*Each class or course in comprehensive sex education in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV.

The bill’s third purpose was to remove value-laden language in the old law. For example, the old law contained passages like this:

*Course material and instruction shall teach honor and respect for monogamous heterosexual marriage.

*Course material and instruction shall stress that pupils should abstain from sexual intercourse until they are ready for marriage…

*[Classes] shall emphasize that abstinence is the expected norm in that abstinence from sexual intercourse is the only protection that is 100 percent effective against unwanted teenage pregnancy [and] sexually transmitted diseases…

The proposed bill eliminated all those passages and replaced them with wording like this:

*Course material and instruction shall include a discussion of sexual abstinence as a method to prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.

*Course material and instruction shall present the latest medically factual information regarding both the possible side effects and health benefits of all forms of contraception, including the success and failure rates for the prevention of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV…

Obama and his cronies in Planned Parenthood completely removed the concept of marriage from the bill, lowered the age of discussion of AIDS to kindergarten, and increased emphasis on birth control.

The bill says K through 12. Obama Campaign lies once again.

McCain Campaign - Use the Obama voice over while showing the bill with the K though 12 line highlighted.

Then your announcer asks, who has no honor Senator Obama?

FIGHT BACK AND WIN.

Better still... List all the language that was removed. What has been purposely removed is the best illustration of the bill’s true intention... and by inference the real intentions of its supporters, including Barak Obama.

Abortion is an Industry. The more pregnant kids, the better for Planned Parenthood.

Costs about $350–$900 in the first trimester

willie horton? did a lib actually mention that ghost??

are they so freakin stupid they don't actually know what happened there?

i guess it's time for McCain/Palin to mention that Obamas 'kiddie sex lessons' isn't quite so bad as another dem presidential candidate's mistake... then detail how that mistake came to be

hey, obama... did you vote for any work release programs by any chance?? just wondering (wouldn't that tie in nicely)

Thank you, 1035.

I just sent Byron York this. (I think Diamond6 can appreciate how I worded it.)

Mr. York, Thank you for your very important article “On Sex-Ed, McCain is Right.”

I was writing for the now defunct “IllinoisLeader.com” during the Obama/Keyes election. Fran Eaton, who I copy, was its Editor in Chief (and now edits illinoisreview.com). Jill Stanek (cc:) assumed that role when Fran briefly helped the Keyes campaign. This is an excellent example of a leftist “Trojan Horse” bill.

Nowhere does it include language of the nature of “...shall be limited to...” or “...may not include...” as you have reported. Instead, the interpretation of what is “age appropriate” is left to elitist advisory committees, which in turn may rely upon their sex-ed allies at SIECUS.

Material to Keyes’ revelation — the “age appropriate” guidelines which are generated by “experts” (extremists) for school boards and governing bodies to dovetail into are thus:

http://www.siecus.org/_data/global/images/guidelines.pdf

The scandalous SIECUS curricula guidelines, related below, include instructing children (including those aged 5-8) in how sexual relations are performed, instructing them about masturbation “in private” and that “most” children do it. Then the small children are instructed, “People often kiss, hug, touch, and engage in other sexual behaviors with one another to show caring and to feel good.”

So the path is laid out: masturbate, then experiment with another. Citations from the SIECUS Guidelines:

Developmental Messages: Level 1 (ages 5-8)

• Each body part has a correct name and a specific function.
• A person’s genitals, reproductive organs, and genes determine whether the person is male or female.
• A boy/man has nipples, a penis, a scrotum, and testicles.
• A girl/woman has breasts, nipples, a vulva, a clitoris, a vagina, a uterus, and ovaries.
• Some sexual or reproductive organs, such as penises and vulvas, are external or on the outside of the body while others, such as ovaries and testicles, are internal or inside the body.
• Both boys and girls have body parts that feel good when touched.
• Vaginal intercourse – when a penis is placed inside a vagina – is the most common way for a sperm and egg to join.
(Page 26)

Developmental Messages, Level 1 (ages 5-8)
• Most children are curious about their bodies.
• Bodies can feel good when touched.
(Page 51. Interesting language, “Most children are....” Wouldn’t be any peer pressure there, now would there?)

Topic 2:Masturbation

Subconcept: Masturbation is one way human beings express their sexuality.
Developmental Messages:
Level 1

• Touching and rubbing one’s own genitals to feel good is called masturbation.
• Some boys and girls masturbate and others do not.
• Masturbation should be done in a private place.
(Pages 51-52)

Topic 3:Shared Sexual Behavior

Subconcept: Individuals express their sexuality with a partner in diverse ways.
Developmental Messages:
Level 1
• People often kiss, hug, touch, and engage in other sexual behaviors with one another to show caring and to feel good.
(Page 52)

Topic 5:Human Sexual Response
Subconcept: Female and male bodies respond both similarly and differently to sexual stimulation.
Developmental Messages:
Level 1
• Both girls and boys may discover that their bodies feel good when touched.
(Page 54)

When Barack H. Obama, A.B., J.D., former Senior Lecturer in Law, University of Chicago, former Editor, Harvard Law Review, speaks about legislation and wants to be exacting about it, he doesn’t talk in his “down home” style. He doesn’t jive as in the debate with Keyes, “So, that’s the kind of stuff that I was talking about in that piece of legislation.”

What destructive social engineering has been accomplished thus far using such tactics in other states, I do not personally know. That Illinois was targeted, utilizing Barack Obama and Jeffrey Schoenberg, who work hand in glove with Planned Parenthood (witness Jill’s experience with their ruthlessness) is clear.

I hope this may help.

Yeah, but the facts won’t change MSM or Bill O’Reilly’s opinion on this.

Bill O. has been a buffoon for quite some time. I think he hid it better at first.

Clueless.

I have read through this bill for a couple of days and the majority of sections deal with “comprehensive sex education”. Only a small portion addresses pedophiles and sexual harassment. It is like pouring a cup of fresh water into a poluted pond and saying the pond is clean water.

It would be helpful if someone could display the entire bill on one page (little pages) with just the pedophile section highlighted....it would give some real perspective to it.
