Gov. Sarah Palin The current lie of the presidential campaign, current but certainly not last, is that you are some kind of lousy, sexist bum if you question Sarah Palin's lightweight credentials to be vice president of the United States, or the judgment of the 72-year-old who put her on the ticket in the first place. It means you're supposed to do about as much vetting on her as John McCain.
She's a spunky mom, she has a son who's a soldier, she loves guns and hates Roe vs. Wade, and don't worry about the rest of it.
Don't worry that when asked foreign policy questions by Charlie Gibson last week, Palin talked about how you can see Russia from Alaska, as if Vladimir Putin might make a move on Fairbanks after he's done with Georgia. Anybody who does worry is clearly trying to hold down women everywhere and make sure the glass ceiling for them stays up at the same time.

Palin, it is as if you want to fold the 19th Amendment into a paper airplane. So people from her side, starting with McCain's handlers, have made it out that she is a victim of sexism. Are they kidding? Sarah Palin ought to write sonnets on the subject, because it is sexism that has built a force field around her, for as long as it lasts.

Won’t fly. What sealed the fact that they are sexist are the questions of whether she could be a good mother while being VP. That was sexist, no possibility of successfully spinning it.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this article has no footing in reality. There is NO WAY Biden, Obama, or McCain would ever be treated like this.

Hello? How about the actual reasons McCain picked her, i.e. reform and energy? This is further proof of sexism. The author focuses on Palin’s motherhood and womanhood (and, to be fair, her love of guns) and completely ignores her record as a public official.
