Bill Murray was always the funniest of that bunch....effortlessly.

Wry and laconic.

Belushi was funny but in a had to self destruct sorta way so many fat funny guys flame out.

Akroyd....more Canadian style chop chop humor.

If I recall correctly, it all began when he hurt his back during a pratfall on an opening sequence of SNL waaaaaay back in the beginning.

I don't recall the specific show, but the pratfall involved a stage full of folding chairs. I think he hit them wrong and twisted as he fell. I have vague recollections of seeing him wince on the air when it happened.

Isn’t that the truth. SNL has just never been funny to me.

I believe he'll find it was earlier today: "I want her to decimate this woman (Palin). " Thread Link

You can't mention Clark Griswold without his wife, Ellen:

Yep. Murray's humor trumps just about anything that's come since.

"Christmas Vacation" is a great film and part of our Christmas tradition.

by 1988 Chevy Chase was the kind of actor who'd star in junk like ''Caddyshack II,'' ''Christmas Vacation,'' ''Nothing but Trouble,'' and ''Fletch Lives.'

IMHO Christmas Vacation was a solidly funny movie and Chevy Chase was very good in it.

“I want her to decimate this woman (Palin).”

That’s why I posted this. I think Chase’s partisan, viscous, attacks is an attempt to win favor in Hollywood. If supporting McCain could get him a job, he would switch side in a minute.

I just remember back when I listened to Howard Stern, how much Howard used to rag on Chevy.

“Whatever. IMO, “Christmas Vacation” is still the best Christmas movie ever, even better than the boring “It’s a Wonderful Life.” And CC was brilliant as Clark Griswold.”

You forgot the extreme sarcasm tag.

I don't think Chevy is anywhere near the bottom yet.

He's too bitter, egotistical and angry to stop now.

If he thinks his last roasting “hurt,” wait till he smells the stench of roasted Vacation VHS tapes and DVD’s.

The only thing that Chevy was funny in was Caddyshack, National Lampoon Vacation, European Vacation and Christmas Vacation..
