I mean, to be fair, McCain himself has said “I am learning to get online myself, and I will have that down fairly soon, getting on myself. I don’t expect to be a great communicator, I don’t expect to set up my own blog, but I am becoming computer literate to the point where I can get the information that I need. I don’t e-mail. I’ve never felt the particular need to e-mail.”

There are also photos of him using a cell phone and a Blackberry, so it’s pretty clear that he _could_ email.

I mean, it was kind of a weak and stupid ad, but I try as I might, I can’t see this as “mocking his injuries”.

The ad is not a direct attack on macs disabilities. However it shows that those that put the ad together don't know how to google. But stupidity and cleverness sometimes have unintended consequences. They ran the add , they own it , people will take it any way they see fit. To try to explain away or to define responses for others is futile.

McCain says this because he downplays his injuries, because he is in many ways a modest man.

Obama has misused this modesty to attack him for his war injuries.
