All I have ever heard of was there was some talk bout disqualification. Romney was never officially disqualified as far as I know !(Please provide sourcing for that !) George Romney disqualified himself for the GOP nomination with his “brainwashing” remark after a trip to South Vietnam.

My source on George Romney: My mother - who is adamant that was the reason Romney dropped out (I was too young and not paying attention when all that happened). Must have been the lousy reporting in the Detroit Free Press even back then. I retract this undocumented claim.
