Democrats are challenging Republicans to support a compromise energy bill in Congress.

Compromise? BS. Throw the crooked, anti-American socialists out of Congress, then let a Republican majority put a REAL energy bill in place with emphasis on domestic independence including more petroleum sourcing and nuclear plant building.
America was not built on compromises.
Watch out for... The Gag of Ten.
There are enough RINOs that the Dems will probably prevail.
Democrats compromise because they have nothing else. Let them fall on their own compromise. Let this country get to work to build new refrineries, produce it’s own oil...........and keep the oil in this country. If we do this, it will release the middle east oil to the rest of the world. No need to ship out our oil. If it’s true that we use 25% of the worlds oil, then producing our own will release 25% more oil to the world.
When are the idiots going to get it? Just let the moratorium expire on Oct. 1.
This isn’t difficult ... NO DEAL!
Any compromise is a loss!
Wait now! Drill soon! Watch prices fall!
Compromise or capitulation?
True for most of your post. But there’s another angle. Japan has to import their oil. A good portion of our exported oil goes to Japan to ensure they are safe and strong and don’t need to worry about their local tyrants shutting down their supply or using it for extortion.
We don’t want a critical ally like Japan to be dependent upon those around them to supply their oil.
“Compromise” with the Democrats means, “okay, we’ll take a little bit of cancer”.
No thanks.
Exactly. The largest obstacle to our energy situation is government. Get them out of the way and private industry will resolve the issue. Let them "compromise" and we'll have another encyclopedia's worth of regulations hindering our oil, gas, and electric industries.
So, after shutting down Congress to avoid talking about the issue, the Dems are back in town and are trying to act like dealing with our energy situation was their idea all along. Typical. Its all a game. The issues are merely tools to bash your opponents with and nothing more. Solving the problem is a minor afterthought at best.
Unfortunately the oil companies do not want to decouple the US oil industry from the lucrative world spot marktet. If the overseas trading pits are willing to offer higher prices for the oil, the oil companies will ship this stuff out immediately. It would be interesting if the American people can pull such domestic oil policy off, but the oil companies want to drill offshore and sell the oil to the highest bidder even if it means shipping it out of the US and creating temporary shortages in the US.
