It is good that McCain's camp has a rebuttal.
However, I doubt the truth of this rebuttal.
You can type on a computer without raising your arms above your head. You can operate a computer even without being able to tie your shoes.
My wife's cousin had Lou Gehrig's disease and was able to operate a computer. Special software is available for the handicapped. Various software packages are available for various stages of being handicapped. The disease of my wife's cousin progressed to the point that he used special software where all he had to do was wait until the right letter would stream by and he would nod his head to choose it. He is now dead, but he was able to operate a computer almost until his death.
If McCain doesn't operate a computer, I think it is more likely that he just doesn't want to. And if he doesn't want to, it is alright with me.
Sorry to be such a doubter.

If you did y our research, you would have read that McCain let's Cindy do the actual keyboard punching as his afflictions render him “too laborious” on the keyboard. (because of his injuries)
I think his time is better spent in other ways. I don't remember being able to easily use a keyboard listed as a prerequisite for being president. That's what secretaries are for....and in McC’s place, Cindy has been doing it for him. He dictates, she punches.

I believe the reason he can’t use the computer is because it’s painful.

McCain’s inability to raise his arms is obviously not his only problem with his arms. Keyboarding is a complex activity which requires lots of coordination among all fingers hand muscles, and both forearms, plus the shoulders are important as well. It was McCain’s shoulders that got the worst injuries, I believe. He probably simply does not have the time to make use of the generally quite slow computer devices that would allow one to make use of email. The handicapped people I know who use computers with special aids have to work with excruciating slowness. Public figures do hot have that kind of time.

If he is lying, why would he have lied about it in May of 2000?
