Obama aide: McCain campaign 'sleaziest' in modern history
CNN ^

Posted on 09/13/2008 12:44:51 PM PDT by Chet 99

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire (CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama's spokesman on Saturday accused Sen. John McCain of "cynically running the sleaziest and least honorable campaign in modern presidential campaign history." Sen. Barack Obama blasts his rival, Sen. John McCain, at a rally in Manchester, New Hampshire, Saturday.

Obama, speaking to a crowd Saturday in Manchester, New Hampshire, said, "John McCain wants to have a debate about national security; let's have that debate. I warned that going into Iraq would distract us from Afghanistan. John McCain cheerleaded for it. John McCain was wrong, and I was right."

"The McCain-[Sarah] Palin ticket, they don't want to debate the Obama-Biden ticket on issues because they are running on eight more years of what we've just seen. And they know it," the Democratic presidential nominee said. "As a consequence, what they're going to spend the next seven, eight weeks doing is trying to distract you.

"They're going to talk about pigs, and they're going to talk about lipstick; they're going to talk about Paris Hilton, they're going to talk about Britney Spears. They will try to distort my record, and they will try to undermine your trust in what the Democrats intend to do."

Where is Don Meredith these days? Time to sing “The Party’s Over.

If you go to the John Batchelor show website you will find some excellent posts from him. to quote John “the Obama campaign is in total meltdown.”

“I warned that going into Iraq would distract us from Afghanistan.” — Barack Obama
Hmmm ... Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate in November, 2004. We invaded Iraq in March, 2003 — a year and a half earlier. Only an idiot believes his B.S.

Oh please use this Mr. McCain. Please please please!!

I want to see “Barack Obama claims that he warned the US that going into Iraq would distract from the war in Afghanistan. But he was elected into the Senate a full year and a half after the war began.

False claims, false promises, that is Barack Obama”

Or something like that.

For as much attention as I have been paying to this election, I can’t believe I missed those debates that McCain and Obama had. When is the one about national security scheduled? /s

uh, sorry dudes, what you refuse to admit is that liberlism ,itself, is sleazy.

Y’all just hate her because she has made fools out of all that is liberal.

She really is not unique, she is like the whole population of the United States.

A woman who has a family, kids, a hubby, and really loves her country and fellow citizens.

Life is tough, Sarah says, I know it, we will deal with it.

Sleaziest presidential campaign in modern history? Don't make me laugh.

By the way, Mr. Obamabot, have you studied B.H.O.'s campaigns in Chicago? By the way, Chicago is an Indian word meaning place of the stinking onion.

Did I mention Alphonse Capone was just a community organizer in Chicago?

Preemptive and brilliant.

I don't think it's brilliant it's page one in the democratic playbook. I can't think of an election over the last 20 years that it hasn't been used.

As for preemptive I think they were called out on the carpet for being sleazy and sexist for the lipstick remark. It's just typical democratic wining, as in "I'm not sleazy you're sleazy". Even in middle school that retort never swayed many people.

The surprising thing is that I've been waiting for Obama to self destruct and always thought Hillary would be the one to start the self destruct sequence.

Is the McCain ad on sex ed for K-graders wrong, or is it correct?

We would like to make an ad refuting the media spin. If a case can be made, please post links to how and why. Thanks.

It seems just the other day that hussein was praising McCain for NOT bringing up negatives about him such as his islamic religion.

Funny how that’s out the window as the polls change.

This, from the guy who kneecapped his former mentor Alice Palmer. This, from the guy who kneecapped Jack Ryan. This, from the guy whose theme is "hope" and then proceeded to run a commercial mocking McCain's war injuries.

Obama knows sleazy. Sleazy is deriding your opponent for not using email, when the reason McCain doesnt use email is his war injuries make it painful and laborious for him to type!

“CBS was doing it last night. Katie Couric stated flat out that the campaigns had taken the high road until yesterday when McCain started lying and running negative ads. Yes, she really did...yesterday...totally ignoring 2 full weeks of attacking Palin.”

Obama took the low road a long long time ago, calling Bill Clinton and Geraldine Ferraro racists was a part of their MO.

They called McCain racist in July and were called on it.

They mocked McCain for his war-injury-related inability to use email. And lipstick on a pig slap at Palin was just the icing on the cake; Obama’s surrogates have planted and spread smear and lies and very dirty stuff against Palin since she was announced.

“Preemptive and brilliant. Dirty but brilliant.”

No it’s idiotic. In the days of the liberal media monopoly, it looked briliant, since the networks would send the previous Dem smears down the memory hole, and bemoan ‘negative campaigning’ only when the Republicans engaged in it.

When the Democrats have a negative attack, the liberal media would simply validate and amplify it “questions have been raised about ...” We saw that MO with ABC News on Friday, in their interview of Palin. They raised all the anti-Palin issues that Obama campaign put out in their 60 page hit piece on Palin. It was a ‘media advisory’ and it was basically instructions for the media to ‘go use this’.

But this is not the era of the media monopoly. This is the google, youtube, internet, blog era, the anti-Palin stuff was pushed and debunked long before ABC even mentioned it.

So Obama might have gotten away with it way back when but right now he is a hypocrite.
