Whoopi Asks McCain: 'Do I Have To Be Worried About Becoming a Slave Again?'

The legalization of slavery is a big campaign issue. Just ask Whoopi Goldberg. Republican nominee John McCain appeared on the Septemeber 12 edition of "The View." Answering a question about his opposition to Roe v. Wade, McCain insisted that he would support judges who strictly interpret the Constitution. This must have set alarms for Whoopi Goldberg who asked "do I have to worry about becoming a slave again?"

Not too sure I want her on my plantation anyway. Didn’t she kill somebody in The Color Purple?

No she played a caricature of a black that perpetuates the negative image of an uneducated poor black woman who speaks with “Ebonics” and didn't have the courage to stand up to anyone. In the movie she also had an affair with another woman. Basic hollywood role model material.

She doesn’t have to worry about becoming a slave again. But let’s look at the historical record. Which party supported slavery, and wanted the Federal government to enforce and expand it? The Democrats. Which party led the secession movement and actually fought against the U.S. government to preserve slavery? The Democrats. Which party tried to bring the blacks back into slavery, by passing Jim Crow laws and enforcing segregation? The Democrats. Members of which party fought against Federal anti-lynching laws and civil rights legislation? The Democratic Party.

Whoopi should be asking the Democrats if she is in danger of becoming a slave again.

The Constitution didn’t create slavery. It merely accommodated existing slavery for the sake of getting slave states to approve the Constitution. It was a devil’s bargain that led to a bloody war some 70 years later.

After that war, the Constitution was amended. Slavery was abolished in one of the post war amendments (13). The rights of all citizens were protected in other amendments (14 & 15).

So, today, a strict constructionist judge would be Constitutionally bound to respect these rights. It would take a lot of “creativity” for a judge to reintroduce slavery. Only a loose interpretation of the Constitution would permit such creativity.

Goldberg has it backwards. Her big risk is that a judge devoted to a “living Constitution” might find a rationale for adapting to sharia law. In which case, Goldberg, as a woman, might face significant threats to her rights as a human being.

When was that shameless hussy ever a “slave”? The last black American known to be born into slavery was Eliza Moore, who died on January 21, 1948, in Montgomery County, Alabama, at the age of 105.

Whoopi’s viewpoint is likely that if the guarantee of the ability to get an abortion is revoked at the Federal level then women will become slaves to their reproductive capacity.

Or some such drivel ....

Whoopi was a slave once? I did not know that.

I think it was from when she was on Star Trek. She was several centuries old and had picked cotton in the old south and served as a female 'Isaac' on the Enterprise, tending bar for all the white folks.

Whoopi Goldberg...asked "do I have to worry about becoming a slave again?"

To quote Michael Jackson: "That's just ignorant."

Hey, she should know! She was the all knowing in star trek TNG. She knew the past, present, future and twisted realities.

She shouldn’t have to ask this question, she is in a twisted reality.

Ugh. The only thing “The View” needs to make it complete is a bubbling cauldron.

Prissy, you're already a slave on the Democrat plantation but don't know it.

Under an Obama administration you'd become the personal servant to Scarlett O'Bama.

LOL!! Have to admit she’s entertaining...I wouldn’t have this thread to read and laugh over without her. LOL!!! It’s unfortunate that there are people out there that honestly think the way she does.

Hey Whoopi.....The Supreme Court was the one who issued the Dred Scott decision. The Constitution, specifically the 13th Amendment, obliterated that bit of LEGISLATION FROM THE BENCH.

That’s elementary US history. That decision, incidentally, was handed down under a DEMOCRAT president, James Buchanan. I wish McCain had been sharper and hit her with it.

Whoopi, a slave,.......””Only if your Muslim buddies win.””

And then she would be gagged & burkqa-ed immediately. See, there’s some good in even the worst possible scenario.
