Here is how ABC put the newsbreaking title as the header;

“EXCLUSIVE: GOV. SARAH PALIN WARNS WAR MAY BE NECESSARY IF RUSSIA INVADES ANOTHER COUNTRY”

Not until you get into the article does it show that she was talking about Russia invading a NATO ally. The libs are going ballistic over this.

SARAH PALIN ADVOCATES WAR WITH RUSSIA.

Just see how long it takes for that talking point to hit the airwaves. No later than 7 PM Eastern Time, you can bet.

Not until you get into the article does it show that she was talking about Russia invading a NATO ally.

That cannot be repeated often enough:

When asked by Gibson if under the NATO treaty, the U.S. would have to go to war if Russia again invaded Georgia, Govenor Palin responded: "Perhaps so. I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally, is if another country is attacked, you're going to be expected to be called upon and help.

"And we've got to keep an eye on Russia. For Russia to have exerted such pressure in terms of invading a smaller democratic country, unprovoked, is unacceptable," she told ABC News' Charles Gibson in an exclusive interview.

Be on the alert for statements comparing her to Barry Goldwater.

Even a President Obama would be under the obligation to militarily defend a NATO ally from attack, no matter who the attacker.

This will be tough for Dems to spin unless Obama would care to say that he won't honor our NATO treaty obligations.

She is absolutely correct. Article 5 of the NATO Charter states,

"The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

Any such armed attack and all measures taken as a result thereof shall immediately be reported to the Security Council. Such measures shall be terminated when the Security Council has taken the measures necessary to restore and maintain international peace and security.

The only time Article 5 was invoked was after 9/11, which is why NATO is in Afghanistan.

Isn’t that what Putin said to us through his Number 2 or such?

Incredible misread; as was Charlie’s lead-through question. Too bad he seems so stiff. . .and determined.
