That’s also an interesting question. Let me try to answer it and explain where I stand.

Short answer – I am very certain that the Earth revolves around the Sun so my answer is Yes.

Since the original topic of the thread was Evolution then I think discussions on Heliocentrism vs. Geocentrism are way off the original topic but then again perhaps not.

I understand some people’s objection to Evolution as it may oppose their religious beliefs. I’m sorry that the overwhelming scientific evidence contradicts those beliefs but I don’t think that any facts will ever change their minds and so be it.

What I don’t understand is why in 2008, anyone in their right mind, would still be clinging to an outdated and disproved Geocentric solar system other than to their literal and very narrow and unenlightened interpretation of their religious text.

The problem I have with too many of the people who object to Evolution is not just their objection to Evolution alone, but their rejection of all science unless they can twist and misinterpret science in order to prove their interpretation of the Bible is the only correct one.

If Creationists and ID’ers really want to be taken seriously in the scientific arena, they have to clearly separate themselves from the YEC’s and people who still think that the Sun revolves around the Earth.
