No kidding, not only that, but this particular reading of Scripture is one of the most misunderstood or misinterpreted.

This was our second reading at my wedding Mass last June. It was also taught to us at our marriage seminar we attended. My guess is when a lot of people read this they see “Wives, be subordinate to your husbands...” and then tune everything else out.

There is so much more to this reading that many people — including this WaPo writer — miss.
