Eight working mothers from the Virginia Run development in Centreville went together to the Palin-McCain rally yesterday because Sarah Palin is "just like us." This is something new. Nobody ever accused Franklin Roosevelt or Ronald Reagan of being just like us.

Starts off looking pro-Palin, but degenerates later. But the beginning is worth a read.
Ah yes, ‘flawed’ as opposed to the inside the Beltway perfection that is the Washington Post.
YOu can tell by the title (flawed Palin) it is a hit piece.
WTF? Reagan was an east coast elitist like FDR?
Is this the same Ronald Reagan that lived on a small ranch in rural California that many visitors said "was not worthy of such a powerful man"?
The fact that Palin is âjust like usâ has the Washington Post and the rest of the media terrified. When normal citizens do more than vote for the candidate they tells us to, they become furious. Their power and very existence hangs in the balance of destroying this woman. I hope and pray that we do not let them succeed in their objective.
Cute little liberal's veiled way of telling us Sarah Palin isn't much more than a dumb hick.
The crowd, which I counted at 8,000 but which police estimated at 23,000, gathered at Van Dyck Park in Fairfax City
Wow, that's some discrepancy. Anyone who was there who can narrow it down a bit?
...represented votes for John McCain but passion for Palin. McCain knew it; he led the audience in a chant of "Sar-ah! Sar-ah!" Still, did the man who might be the next president know that hundreds would start streaming out of the park as soon as Palin finished speaking, leaving a noticeably sparser audience to hear from the top of the ticket?
John McCain must be feeling a little like Prince Charles did, back in the day.
Never forget that without John McCain we would never have the benefit of knowing Sarah Palin.
The crowd, which I counted at 8,000 but which police estimated at 23,000,
Deep in denial.
But he still can't deny the connection the Republican ticket has to regular people, something the Democrat ticket lacks.
And Obama differs from Palin, as far as experience goes, how?
And I find that for wrapping a dead fish, the Washington Post is the perfect choice.
We owe John McCain both for his service to his country and his greatest gift to us-Sarah Palin.
Considering that Barack Obama is the political equivalent of Sanjaya Malakar, you’d think the media would be reluctant to bring up the American Idol comparisons.
So, what he's sayin' is that Palin really IS just like us--us clueless, redneck peons, who wouldn't know how to behave on the DC Cocktail Circuit, not even if someone handed us a glass of chablis.
Yep. Funny, though. Soccer moms were a perfect constituency for Clinton, but hockey moms are common folk. Go figure.
Sarah Palin was sent to show America the hateful neoliberal heart.
Translation: We ARE better and smarter than you and know what is best, so shut up and vote Obama!
