Fortunately, the Chunnel seems to have been extremely robustly engineered for safety. There’s a very good chance they no one will be injured.

The French government said the blaze started when a truck carrying chemicals caught fire on the train travelling from Folkestone, Kent, to Calais. I am surprised that hazardous cargo is allowed.
