It took longer to get back than to get there. When the plane hit the pentagon I dropped everything and ran out. His school is literally on The Hill a few blocks from the Capitol. If the second plane came it could have been shot down before it got to the Capitol and possibly hit him...not something I thought about at the time because we didn’t now about flight 93.
Yes, and the way that United 93 was configured to fly into DC was that it was going to enter DC thorugh NW Washington, through or past Conn. Ave. to Penn. Ave., etc. — which would have been flying really low by then and possibly would have hit some buildings prior to hitting the Capitol Building, the Washington Monument, or the White House.
