My Suburban never went so fast down the Clara Barton to go pick him up. I'll never forget that drive.
My brother was working in the Pentagon, due to be transferred to Whiteman AFB on 9/30. He asked to be transferred one month early, to get his kid in school, etc. They let him go.
He was almost there that day. Right after 9/11, they called him back to the Pentagon and he was there for almost 2 years after. Now he’s retired.
Hubby was in the AF for 26 years. His retirement came through on 8/30/01. He didn’t get called back. (Whew!)
