It puts parents against indoctrinated children. It puts the children against themselves -- for it allows and encourages them to make destructive "life-style" choices.
It is an issue that weakens a society. Why are almost 50% of babies born out of wedlock these days?
I can not understand for one second the take you expressed on it. You wrote that childhood education and childhood moral education is not a "real issues that might actually affect us".
I am a dad. At times I teach in our schools, in elementary schools. I observe the great problems in a classroom that are today largely due to the classroom impact of the poor behavior, constant attention seeking and lack of common moral guidelines coming out of our culture, out of broken families. It is the long-term effect of the teachings of secularism and amoralism dictated by educational establishment under the influence of overreaching judges, and culture destroyers and poisoners like Bill Ayers.

It is a decidedly antiChristian approach to teaching about sex (literally it considers Christianity to be “wrong”).
The same government that cannot establish a State religion cannot teach “counter education” to oppose Christianity.
Secularism is the most vilely jealous of all religions -- it insists on deliberately destroying all hope kids have to learn from the wisdoms of their elders, like Bill Ayers, like the Alinsky School of "community organization", it teaches only that which causes bitter dissents, dehumanization of opponents, and class hatreds.
Secularism, social deconstructionism, cultural marxism -- all seek to destroy the established culture by setting up a mist -- a dense fog of irreconcilable confusion in young minds that cause their boats to drift away from the sea lanes established by generations, and become lost at sea or wrecked.

BTW, read the rest of the thread. The reality of this situation is proved several times over. He voted for a bill that would have required discussing masturbation and STDs with 5 year olds.
It wouldn’t surprise me if it also would be expanded to include “tolerance” of ‘alternative’ lifestyles and same sex couples.
