Of Course He Was Talking About Palin! (No Prettying Up Obama Gaffe)
Boston Herald ^ | September 11, 2008 | Michael Graham

Posted on 09/11/2008 3:21:35 AM PDT by suspects

Let’s start with the obvious and inarguable: Of course Sen. Barack Obama’s comment about “lipstick on a pig” was a reference to Supergirl Sarah Palin.

You know it, I know it and the partisan crowd that literally rose to their feet and cheered when they heard it know it.

And it’s nothing new. Democrats shot the lipstick line at Gov. Palin on their official Web site last week with a posting entitled “McCain’s Selection of Palin is Lipstick on a Pig” - accompanied by what I’m sure was intended to be a flattering photo of the Alaska outdoorswoman.

And - coincidence or something more? - the same day Obama made his crack, a Democratic congressman introducing Joe Biden said of Sarah Palin, “There’s no way you can dress up her record, even with a lot of lipstick.”

If there was anyone in the audience still too dense to get it - say, an employee of CNN, perhaps - Obama immediately followed up with a reference to the McCain/Palin campaign wrapping “an old fish in a piece of paper called ‘change.’ ”

A lipstick-wearing pig and an old fish? Gee, who could he possibly be talking about?

So please, my Obama-supporting friends, let’s stop the nonsense about how Obama’s lipstick talk was, as he put it yesterday, an “innocent comment,” or that the reaction is “phony outrage.”

You want phony outrage? Flashback to Hillary Clinton’s “3 a.m.” ad. Remember it? The helpless children asleep in bed, the insistent ringing phone, etc., etc. And some Obama supporters immediately cried “racism” because, they claimed, the ad played on white fears of black home invaders.

Or, even more laughable, that the first three letters of the word “night” in the kid’s “Goodnight Moon” pajamas were highlighted for nefarious purposes.

Now that was phony...

Obama can deny it all he wants, and I was surprised even all the talking heads on Fox thought he "didn't mean it that way", but it's a no brainer and everybody knows it. The key thing is time and again Obama says stuff without thinking.

Hussein Obama can go on national television and deny that he was referring to Gov. Palin all he wants, and he can mock outrage at the McCain for their righteous indignation, but the ALLUSION is undeniable, and any American who heard it knows that was intentionally alluding to Gov. Palin.

This wasn’t a political plot. It was a Barack Obama point of personal privilege. What we’re seeing is how Barack Obama performs under pressure. And so far, it isn’t pretty.

Great. The more the voters see of the Democrat ticket, the more they want to vote for McCain.

Good article! What a weasel - making attacks and then denying them. Is this the “new kind of politics” Obama promised?

Is there anyone with half a brain out there who is still supporting this guy? Don’t answer. I’m afraid I know already.

It’s absolutely revealing, over the past 48 hours, Obama’s peculiar and bizarre behavior. He’s becoming unglued and is coming down in flames and he knows it. The way that he’s reacting to all of this negative media towards him right now - as well as the entire country being appalled at his continuous remarks about the ‘lipstick’, ‘pig’ & ‘stinky fish’ — even when he says that it must stop — yet he goes on Letterman last night and keeps repeating it like a really bad stand-up comedian..... all of that it showing us all that the man has some deep-rooted psychological issues.

I want to know if he’s been under medication before. In my singlehood days, I dated guys like these (passive-aggressive; attention-seekers) and it’s just bad, bad, bad. He’s just not ‘Presidential’ at all.... just a guy with no real background, no real roots and a ‘holier-than-thou’ attitude.

Greta column, Michael!

I thought it was niggardly of him.

If I can't say niggardly, he can't talk about lipstick. Fair's fair.

In fairness, when I heard his comment it instantly evoked Palin’s self-description as a pit bull with lipstick. The comment cudda been innocent, but it's like a White politician callin’ him niggardly. Not smart.

As I've said for some time now, Hussein Obama’s rhetorical schtick is that he intonates with just the right balance between an educated Ivy-league African American and the bro from the hood. You can hear his voice drop and his cadence and rhythm change when he is intentionally trying to intimidate. Those fearful, timid liberal mollycoddles have bought into it from the beginning.

Whoopi admitted to this recently on The View, where she said (Hussein) Obama is in the very difficult place of trying not to intimidate whites while informing them that they are being taken over, in so many words.

What's funny is that he's such a skinny little snot. Most American men (real men) could crush his sternum with one punch. It's funny when he lets his oratory skim along the surface of jive.

No question - as to 'who' was 'what'and refreshing to see someone in Media not being dismissive here. Palin WAS the pig. . .and the 'OLD fish in yesterday's newspaper (his old programs)WAS McCain.

Nice that, when in trouble, Obama can always count on a visit with Letterman, to get his revision out there quickly.

(Amazing how often we hear per his defense - he could not be that 'stupid'. Can only way, with so many enablers, 'why not'?) By and large; Obama will skate again; and with a trail of 'swiftboating' accusations covering his tracks.

When the 0bama supporter try to pull that “innocent remark” on me I will just say “Yeah you're right but Obama is just touting the same old socialist crap Libs have been pushing for 40 years. You can wrap a piece of crap up in a nice new suit but it's still a piece of crap.”

“Obamas says stuff without thinking”

I wonder if this was written by a speechwriter or his own words. Either way it really backfired on him with the American people. It was definitely a planned statement and everyone knows it no matter how the MSM creeps denys it.
