“Our forefathers anticipated “socialism”.

That’s a provocative thought. Collectivism existed in various forms throughout human history. I believe the Founders clearly understood totalitarianism, a product of socialism, and despised the practice and wrote of the stench of dictatorship in our Declaration of Independence. They just didn’t have the word “socialism” available for use or they might have penned something like “Socialism Sucks!” but in a much more eloquent way.

As I said, your statement is provocative but I don’t want to think too hard this early in the morning.

:-) (I think the coffee is ready!)

I should think that if the proposed scenario that is chugging about slightly under the radar about Hillary to replace an “ailing biden” soon, that she would become a female “also ran”.

Seems to me that Palin has stormed the scene sufficiently to put “female no matter who” in such a position.

Hillary would take a number of votes from McCain/Palin, but insufficiently to warrant her joining up with loser “O”. People celebrate a winner, not a loser, and “O” is showing us what a loser he is recently.

It seems to me that it would be charitable of Clinton to join with the loser “O” at this time in the run. Not going to happen IMO, for the Clinton’s charity starts at home.

Our forefathers anticipated “socialism”. They set up the Senate and the Electoral College to combat it.

They set up the constitution to not allow it.

The constitution had to be changed to allow the income tax, the original constitution did not allow the income tax.

I think the two dislike each other despite appearances and would have made for a terrible ticket. There's no real synergy between Obama and Hillary. They just can't stand each other and personality as much as politics is why she wasn't picked for Obama's running mate. And Hillary didn't want to play second fiddle again. She's done that all her life.

Exactly! And Hillary would NEVER have picked Obama. What does he bring to the table the Democrats don't already have? Nothing!

Yep. Hillary wants to teach her party a lesson in turning its back on her. I don't think Hillary will win in 2012. The stars this year were all aligned this year and you seldom get those kinds of favorable headwinds the Democrats had this year. If she never gets to be President, she at least has the satisfaction of getting to see the party that betrayed her take it up the chin.

Michelle vetoed Hillary. She is the one who wears the pants in the Obama family. What the wife says goes. And there's too the fact Obama would have to watch his back for the rest of life with Hillary a heartbeat away from the presidency. There was no love lost between them.

"55 MEN The Story of the Constitution" Based on the day-by-day notes of James Madison by Fred Rodell, 1907.

What was this danger against which the Senate must guard!

Madison explained "An increase in population will of necessity increase the proportion of those who will labour under all the hardships of life, and secretly sigh for a more equal distribution of its blessings. These may in time outnumber those who are placed above the feeling of indigence. According to the equal laws of suffrage, the power will slide into the hands of the former."

As soon then, as the poor could outvote the rich, they would make plans for a more equal distribution of wealth.

>"IT'S WIDELY ACCEPTED now that Barack Obama would be better off if he'd picked Hillary Clinton"

Well, maybe his chances of getting elected, not his chances of surviving plane crashes/walks in the park.

>"for the Clinton’s charity starts at home."

Unless you count the used underwear that Billy Jeff "gave**" to charity.

It truly was the gift that kept on giving.

I think history will show that Obama’s failure to pick Hillary as VP was a strategic blunder on par with Hitler not neutralizing Britain and opening up the eastern front.
