I still have all the VHS Tapes I made non-stop on that day.
Those earlier reports alone should dispel the conspiracy nuts on it being deliberately brought down, even the false report of collapse prior to its actual collapse by one reporter.
And still most irritating is that the one man finally willing to take definite action to put an end to the attacks is vilified and hated for it.
One of the oddest things that I saw/heard was one of the talking heads (Dan Rather I think) with the “live video” behind him and getting a report over the “wire” (or cell phone) that one of the towers had collapsed. He said something like “well - that’s obviously not true as they are still standing”. Then, like a minute or two later (but not a 7-second delay) - the first one DOES collapse.
I had a lot of it on tape - but not that. Still not sure what that was about. I wonder if they had it on a longer delay or something.
There must be hundreds of thousands of those tapes nationwide. I have a set of 8, missing only the broadcasts between 2 pm and 6pm, while I was at work, and couldn't replace the tape.
I have not brought myself to be able to watch those tapes since they were recorded.
My wife, who was traveling on business, was en route to Detroit from St Louis when the event occured. She was expected back on the evening of Wednesday the 13th, but I did not see her back in California until Sunday night.
