I don’t get this. When we win a war against a nation, we have to accept their refugees and give them financial aid to rebuild. When we lose a war against a nation, we have to accept their refugees and give them financial aid.

And our socialist critics have the chutzpah to call us “imperialist”.

I have given this much thought and still can't come to a reasonable conclusion. It would appear that men and women get elected and go to Washington, D.C. and soak up the feeling of power. Then they look around the world at every human that has pain/suffering/oppression/war/name your blight and do what they can to get them to our Great Shores to show them that Americans are generous and compassionate people.

Those drunk with their power believe that the (world's) hate for us will somehow be quelled by our generosity and caring. Forget looking at what our largess actually accomplishes ... kinda like they refuse to examine the lack of progress of the poverty-stricken in the US, even though they have all kinds of government support.

It appears to be only us peons are able to recognize the problems. The Somali muslims, as well as others, must think that we are the most ignorant humans to ever walk the earth. We invite them in and then, slowly but surely, change our customs, rules, laws and culture to make sure that we accomodate theirs. Hispanic illegals probably have similar thoughts. Who knew that a bunch of uneducated poor folks could take over the most powerful nation ever known ... without ever firing a shot or developing powerful weapons.

I miss the country that I knew when I was a child. My apologies for the rant ...
