Biden: Hillary a Better Pick Than Me
ABC ^ | Sep 10, 2008 | Editorial

ABC News' Matthew Jaffe reports: Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., vice presidential nominee, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., Wednesday said that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., might have been a better pick for the position than him.

At a rally in Nashua, N.H., a man in the audience told Biden how glad he was that Obama picked him over Hillary, "not because she's a woman, but because, look at the things she did in the past."

"Make no mistake about this," Biden responded. "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight."

BTW, Biden has just written his autobiography. It's called, Faith of my Fathers.

Now THAT'S comedy!

LOL! I’m going to miss this race when it’s over.

Yes indeed. This is going to be good.

Make some popcorn, crack open a beer, and pull up a chair. The show is about to start.

Did you hear yesterday’s gaffe? Where he went to acknowledge a local congressman and asked him to stand up.

Problem is that the guy was in a wheelchair: “WHat am I thinking? Hey,...we’re all standing up for you, pal!

That one made the rounds on the AM today and, I have to admit, I truly felt bad for Biden.

Before he attacks McCain, he mentions that he respects him - and it’s real. Don’t know what to think...

“The secret of success in life is sincerity,” Groucho once famously observed. “If you can fake that, you’ve got it made.”

Step one: Hillary replaces Biden.

Step two: Obama and Hillary switch places on the ticket.

You heard it here first!

The question is, would Biden just step down “for the good of the country” or would 0 have to fire him? I’m not sure 0 could do it. Having never run anything he’s never had to confront the situation of a subordinate who finds them self in the wrong job. Barak is very conflict averse and if he did manage the cojones to go through with it, I could see him doing it in a way that would produce maximum aggression and desire to get even on the part of the individual being terminated. It could get ugly.

Then there’s the Hillary problem. She wouldn’t do it for nothing. She’d have major demands. Even if canning Biden didn’t sink the campaign and 0 and HRC were elected, he’d spend the next four years looking over his shoulder at a VP who would undercut him at every turn. If she does end up on the ticket as a student of Roman history I just hope the Secret Service has good, expendable food tasters. (Imagine the voice of the oracle Oprah saying “Barak... Barak... Don’t eat the mushrooms!”)

Then there’s the question of what does Hillary think is best for Hillary. If 0 goes down in flames and she is not on the ticket, she is unsoiled by the defeat and has a clear field in 2012. The questions she’ll ask herself include: Can she wait? Can she beat McCain the incumbent in 2012? Can she beat Palin, who will have lost much of her luster by then, in 2016?

Either way, the Dems are in full meltdown mode and it’s going to be an interesting campaign. More popcorn anyone?

I’d love to see Hillery say, “No, not this time Barak. Sarah and I will fight it out in 0-12.”

Actually, she would have no choice but to say that. There is no way Her Heinous can take the chance of losing after stepping in as the savior of a floundering campaign, and worse, losing to a ticket that also has a woman VP.

The McCain campaign could make a good ad with this. Something like: And on the biggest decision of his campaign, picking a Vice President, even his own running mate says Obama got it wrong.

You know when I read what you wrote I heard this voice in my head.

Man are you right!

I read for 15 minutes or so and my face ached from smiling so much!

It’s like listening to a bunch of people stand around after an accident and tell everyone else whose fault it was.

Hilarious!
