South Korean ship hijacked off Somali coast

Pirates hijacked a South Korean bulk carrier with 21 crew off Somalia's coast Wednesday but were thwarted in a separate attempt to seize a Greek ship...

The South Korean vessel is the 11th to be hijacked since July 20 off Somalia, which is the world's top piracy hotspot. The surge in attacks has prompted the U.S. Naval Central Command to establish a security corridor patrolled by an international coalition of warships.

What I don’t get is why the Koreans are hugging the coast. I hate to say it, but they had it coming, after all the warnings about piracy in the region. To save a few grand in fuel costs, they incurred hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost usage, insurance premium hikes and ransom money.

And you wax lyrical about how the Slammies helped out in Afghanistan but ignore how they continue in watering the Jihadi fields, which the US now spends billions trying to get rid of.

The Deobandi guys who inspired the Taliban originated in India. Sayyid Qutb, who inspired al Qaeda, was from Egypt. The only way to keep these jihadis down would be go conquer these countries and liquidate a big chunk of the population, Mongol-style. If India wants to conquer Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to do this, I'm sure we'll make the necessary disapproving noises without actually getting in the way.
