Why there hasn’t been another major terrorist attack:
1. GITMO. The cream of the AQ operational army was rounded up and stuck in GITMO and held there as long as possible. What would all those guys have gone on to do if they’d been released in 2002 or 2003? Take makrame classes at their local community colleges?
2. Patriot Act. It’s impossible to say what this act prevented but it would be foolish to say it prevented nothing. By virtue of its publicity alone, if nothing else, it slowed the terrorists down. Like a sign on a window: Protected by ADC Security. Who knows if its true or not. But let’s move on to another house.
3. Iraq War. This is the big one. Iraq WAS flypaper for terrorists. And it worked. And the reason it’s quieter there now is a lot of the flies that flocked there are now dead. Dead. Dead. Dead.
Thank you, President Bush.
I thought it was Mussolini that made the trains run on time.
Never mind, she's on a roll.
I think she was using it as a metaphor, but nonetheless, Mussolini didn't do it either.
It's on this thread in one of my posts.
If I'm not mistaken, a category 5 hurricane did hit the United States just recently, but SHE made landfall in St. Paul, MN.
I don't think you will find an amused liberal extant.
LOL!
George Bush is Gary Cooper in the classic western "High Noon." The sheriff is about to leave office when a marauding gang is coming to town. He could leave, but he waits to face the killers as all his friends and all the townspeople, who supported him during his years of keeping them safe, slowly abandon him. In the end, he walks alone to meet the killers, because someone has to.
That's Bush. Name one other person in Washington who would be willing to stand alone if he had to, because someone had to.
OK, there is one, but she's not in Washington yet. Appropriately, at the end of "High Noon," Cooper is surrounded by the last two highwaymen when, suddenly, his wife (Grace Kelly) appears out of nowhere and blows away one of the killers! The aging sheriff is saved by a beautiful, gun-toting woman.
Sarah Palin - and Ann Coulter! - to the rescue!
