Just how cool is Cindy McCain? In a million years, I would never have thought she'd be into drifting! She definitely needs to go onto TOP GEAR USA and challenge that wench Michelle to a drag race!

I had no idea Cindy suffered a stroke.

I didn’t either.
I like this from the end of the article (well worth reading in full)
But what would happen if a drifter suddenly found herself living in the White House as first lady? Would she be able to maintain her penchant for drifting? It’s a scenario most aficionados of the sport never imagined possible.
“Camp David’s got a lot of space,” McCain said, laughing.

WOW! LOL, that is the last thing in the world I would expect Cindy McCain to be into, pretty neat.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the long flight of the day before.
I have never heard of drifting before yesterday. I guess we do it sometimes unintentionally (and in slow motion) on our snowy roads in Michigan.

We got to get this out. It’s way cool. Someone that goes to these things should take voter registration cards and talk about Cindy McCain. Wooo hooo, coolest first lady ever.

So, I think it’s official that we’ve got the two coolest women in the world on our Presidential ticket.
I wonder if Cindy and Todd Palin, champion snowmobile racer, could put on exhibitions together. Host the next X-Games at the White House, I say.
To: stayathomemom
Sounds like DVT, especially if she flew coach class.

I subscribed to and read every sports car magazine there was. Sports Cars Illustrated was my favorite magazine. They always spoke of 4-wheel drifts when racing. I am not sure there are any real sports cars out there today, but back then 4-wheel drifts were commonplace.

McCain did so well that, a year later, in May 2005, she returned to Bondurant to hone her drifting skills. She and Jack then rebuilt a Nissan 240SX, installing a tricked-out engine and other parts conducive to drifting (the car is not street-legal). They even competed in amateur drift competitions in the U.S. as a mother-son tandem, finishing as high as second place.
Holy cow! C'mon McCain camp, get with the PR machine and get these stories out there!

There are plenty of sports cars out there today. And drifting, in and of itself, is now a sport.

They showed them in the video at the Republican National Convention. It WAS really interesting, seeing them drift sideways, and in a long, uniform arc. Made me sort of dizzy. - Cindy also pilots her own jet. I don’t know if Sarah pilots or not. . . yet. I would be surprised if she didn’t “snowmachine” or ski.

So it comes down to Hockey and Car-racing vs. Basketball in the White House.
Another reason to go with McCain Palin

Sarah Palin was on the Alaska State High School Champshionship basketball team. There ain’t much she can’t do better than the junior Senator from Illinois.

but back then 4-wheel drifts were commonplace. And so were bias ply tires .Todays radials grip much better but when they do let go you don't get much warning.
I believe the tires they use in these drift cars come in a harder compound than street tires and that they use higher pressures

Well, we already had grifters. It would be a refreshing change to have a drifter.

And watching old in-car movies of Stirling Moss racing showed this 4 wheel drifting to perfection on every corner...
