I think there is a really good chance that Matt Damon could be an idiot. And I think that’s a really scary thing because I don’t know anything about him. I don’t think in eight weeks I’m going to know anything about him. I know that he was an actor of a really, really small talent. And he’s been able to read for less than two years. I just don’t understand... I think his pick was made for demonstrating cultural elite issues with his Hollywood buddies, but in terms of actual governance it’s a disaster.
I’m no fan of Hollywood types trying to give their expert opinion. Most of them are uneducated and live in a sphere of influence that is tainted.
The thing that really annoys me about it is that it is bad for business. If they would shut up, they would end up making more money. In the end they complain about “free speech” because the people buying tickets boycott them.
With all that said, I don’t think he’s an idiot. Didn’t he write Good Will Hunting? Think what you may about actors, but I think constructing a plot, writing it, and having it appeal to people takes brains.
