“Thank you for posting this. I for one will never forget!!”
Same here. I guess it can be said that I’ve lived a charmed life because I can honestly say that this was the most traumatizing event of my life and I wasn’t even there and I didn’t lose anybody I know. I like to think of it as a blessed life made possible by those that have sacrificed so that I owe it to them for every good thing I’ve ever had in my life. And To God first and foremost obviously.
My son just blows me away though. He woke me up this morning while he was getting ready for school and said “it’s September 11th mom”. A little while later I said to him “I’ve never been able to forget that day and how you were sitting in a chair at age 6 and watching the towers fall on the news and you asked me “who did this”, I said “they think terrorists did” and you replied back “when I grow up, I’m going to kill them”. Right after I reminded him of that he said “I remember and in 5 years, I’ll be in the Army killing terrorists”. I said “I sure hope you’re not because I don’t want you to get hurt or killed because that would kill me”. He said “well, I’m joining the Army and have wanted to since as long as I can remember”. That just blows me away but makes me so worried for his future.
